When Pakistan Cricket Team finished disastrous last Australian tour, PCB announced ban and fine for seven players for their alleged misconduct and intolerable behavior during the tour. Rana Naveed-ul-Hassan is the last one of them to be relieved on Saturday. PCB’s legal adviser told us that, “Rana’s one-year ban has been lifted and his Rs. 2 million fine has also been halved”.
Rana Naveed ul Hassan
Rana Naveed-ul-Hassan, 32 year old Fast Bowler who played 9 Test matches for National Side took only 18 wickets. His ODI record is much better, in 74 ODI he picked up 110 wickets with an average of 29.28. Although PCB has already announce the squad for series against South Africa one day before his ban lifted but right arm pacer still optimistic and looking forward for the next series. Rana still believes that he has plenty of crickets left in him and he can contribute a lot for Pakistan National Cricket Team.

This decision of PCB to lift ban of Rana is again evidence of their short term flawed policies because it makes no logic to lift ban on all seven players after a decision had been taken to act against the misconduct and grouping factor in National team. Now that Rana’s ban has been lifted and he is again available for the selection, the selector should be very careful about his selection because it will be again flawed policy to give chance to old fellow in the presence of young fine fast bowlers.
