Gold Medals for Pakistan after long 40 years in Commonwealth Games
Finally there is good news after long time for the sports lovers in Pakistan, “Two Pakistani Wrestlers won the Gold Medals for Pakistan in the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi”.
|For the first time in the 40 years Pakistan has won a Gold Medal thanks to Azhar Hussian and Muhammad Inam. Last time it was in 1970 at Edinburgh when Pakistani wrestlers won 4 Gold Medals.
Azhar Hussain won his Gold Medal by defeating his Nigerian opponent Ebikewenemo Wilson in 55kg category of free-style wrestling. But the cherished victory came from 84 kg category where Muhammad Inam defeated arch rival Indian wrestler Kumar. After losing first round to the favorite wrestlers Muhammad Inam came back strongly in the next two rounds and won very close contest.” It’s a dream come true to win for my country in wrestling”, Inam said after victory. “I am not satisfied with today. I don’t know how but my performance was not up to the mark. I cannot understand why”, Indian favorite wrestler Kumar said after he dominated the first round and surprised at the defeat in the end. In Pakistan relatives and friends of Inam celebrated that victory in a traditional way. President and Prime Minister of Pakistan hail the two wrestlers in their media briefing for their remarkable victories.
