Indian cricket team is hot favorite for the Cricket World Cup 2011. Is really present Indian Cricket Team is favorite? What are the strengths and weaknesses of team? Is there any prospect for Indian team to win this world cup? You can get the answers of these questions after reading the rest of article.

Fist and most important factor why India is hot favorite in this World Cup is the advantage of home grounds. History and records prove that it has always been a challenge for other teams to beat India in home soil. There is no doubt that home crowd and home ground factor will truly play big role in favor of Indian Cricket Team.
Secondly recent Indian team has very balanced and strong batting line up. With amazing blend of senior and junior players this Indian team has mighty batting line up. Presence of legend Sachin Tendulder, destructive Sehwag, Gautam Ghambir, Yuvraj Sing, MS Dhoni, Raina, Kohli and Yusuf Pathan makes this India batting line up best among all other teams.
Next factor is in form bowling line up of Indian cricket team. Zaheer Khan is in brilliant form with ball along with Harbhagan Singh and both are senior players. Talented Piosh Chawla, Ishant Sharma and Ashish Nehra make this bowling more strong. The advantage of home wickets will also play in favor of these bowlers because they are playing on these wickets since the start of their career.
Last but not least the abilities of MS Dhoni as captain is another decisive factor for Indian Cricket Team. He is the most successful Indian skipper in the history of Indian Cricket. He knows well how to react in pressure situations and how to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Indian cricket team is at number one position in Test Cricket and also among top three teams in ODI’s and T20 format of cricket. All the above mentioned factors are in favor of India and they are truly the most favorite team of this world cup. But cricket is strange game and World Cup history is full of surprises and upsets so anything could happen in this World Cup 2011.

The induction of Wahab Riaz and Shahzaib Hassan into squad, is another surprise of PCB in less then a weak. Although chief selector Mohsen Khan said that inclusion of Younis Khan is the decision of selection committee but in fact, this is the decision of PCB chairman Ijaz Butt.
Main reason of Younis khan induction is the injury of star and senior batsman Muhammad Yousaf and need to strengthen the bating line up of team. There is a huge pressure on 33 year old experience batsman Younis Khan to perform well in upcoming series against South Africa who played 63 Test matches and 202 ODI’s for Pakistan. There are two big surprises in this announcement; one is the exclusion of Muhammad Yousif and second that the name of Captain and vice captain not announced.
Veteran Middle Order Batsman Muhammad Yousif failed to make his place in team which means his career is almost over now. This is wrong decision of selector because in World Cup every team is coming with full strength but selectors dropped one of the most successful batsmen in the history of Pakistan Cricket. India selected Sachin Tendulker and other senior batsmen for world cup even though they are injured.
The second surprise is that the names of captain and vice captain, are not announced which means there is possibility that Misbah ul Haq can lead the Pakistan team for world cup side instead of Shahid Afridi. This is another controversial decision of PCB because it can again start cold war of captaincy between senior players in the team.
Sohail Tanveer is given preference over Tanveer Ahamd although Tanveer Ahmad showed good performances recently and there are doubts about the fitness and form of Tanveer Ahmad.
Four key players Shoaib Malik, Muhammad Aamir, Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt are not part of team due to Match Fixing allegations on them and they are not cleared by ICC. Overall this team is young and inexperience as eight players are participating first time in the World Cup. With this team there is little hope that Pakistan Cricket Team will do something special in the World Cup.

Dhoni is captain of the side and this Indian Side is the best team ever selected for World Cup. India is hot favorite for the World Cup. India also has advantage of home grounds. The mighty Australian side which dominated the world of Cricket and won three previous World Cup titles, is no more an unbeatable side and even not favorite for this world cup. All circumstances show that India is going to get World Champion Glory this time.
Bating is the biggest strength of Indian Team and presence of Tendulker in the team is a big boost for all other batsmen. Shrishanth is not part of the team along with Rohit Sharma due to tough competition for every slot in the team. Lots of hopes have been pinned on this Indian cricket team for world cup 2011 and Indian fans are waiting eagerly to see the India become a world champion this time. Overall a very balanced side is announced by Indian selectors but we have to wait and see if they can perform well in this mega event.

No other batsman in the history of Test cricket scored more than 39 Test centuries but he scored 50 test centuries.
During his 21 year long Test cricket career he scored centuries against all other test playing nations. He scored 11 hundreds against Australia, 9 against Sri Lanka, 7 against England, 6 against South Africa, 5 against Bangladesh, 4 against New Zealand, three each against West Indies and Zimbabwe and 2 against Pakistan.
The Legend of Sachin Tendulkar is growing with every passing day as he is making new records in all formats of cricket. He holds almost all individual batting records in Test and ODI cricket.
