Recently Pakistan Cricket Board announced 15 member squad for the coming World Cup 2011. The squad consists of Shahid Afridi, Mishabh-ul-Haq, Muhammad Hafeez, Kamral Akmal, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Abdul Razzaq, Abdur Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanveerand Ahmad Shehzad.

The induction of Wahab Riaz and Shahzaib Hassan into squad, is another surprise of PCB in less then a weak. Although chief selector Mohsen Khan said that inclusion of Younis Khan is the decision of selection committee but in fact, this is the decision of PCB chairman Ijaz Butt.
Main reason of Younis khan induction is the injury of star and senior batsman Muhammad Yousaf and need to strengthen the bating line up of team. There is a huge pressure on 33 year old experience batsman Younis Khan to perform well in upcoming series against South Africa who played 63 Test matches and 202 ODI’s for Pakistan.There are two big surprises in this announcement; one is the exclusion of Muhammad Yousif and second that the name of Captain and vice captain not announced.
Veteran Middle Order Batsman Muhammad Yousif failed to make his place in team which means his career is almost over now. This is wrong decision of selector because in World Cup every team is coming with full strength but selectors dropped one of the most successful batsmen in the history of Pakistan Cricket. India selected Sachin Tendulker and other senior batsmen for world cup even though they are injured.
The second surprise is that the names of captain and vice captain, are not announced which means there is possibility that Misbah ul Haq can lead the Pakistan team for world cup side instead of Shahid Afridi. This is another controversial decision of PCB because it can again start cold war of captaincy between senior players in the team.
Sohail Tanveer is given preference over Tanveer Ahamd although Tanveer Ahmad showed good performances recently and there are doubts about the fitness and form of Tanveer Ahmad.
Four key players Shoaib Malik, Muhammad Aamir, Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt are not part of team due to Match Fixing allegations on them and they are not cleared by ICC. Overall this team is young and inexperience as eight players are participating first time in the World Cup. With this team there is little hope that Pakistan Cricket Team will do something special in the World Cup.

Dhoni is captain of the side and this Indian Side is the best team ever selected for World Cup. India is hot favorite for the World Cup. India also has advantage of home grounds. The mighty Australian side which dominated the world of Cricket and won three previous World Cup titles, is no more an unbeatable side and even not favorite for this world cup.
