India Becomes Top Test Team After Beating Australia 2-0

When Australian Cricket team arrived in India for two Test match series their aim was to won both and won back their Number one Test team status but on 13 October at Banglore Team India not only won the second Test match and clean sweep the series with 2-0 but also pushed Australia to No.5 in the ICC Test rankings (their lowest of all time). Indian team has strongly proved that they are the best Test team in the world.

It is the only third time when Indian team able to won all test of 2 or more test match series again strong opponents (excluding Bangladesh and Zimbabwe). Last time when Australia was clean swept in a series it was way back in 1982 against Pakistan. The man of the match and man of the series is Sachin Tendulker who said, “This series was a fantastic one. I would like to congratulate the whole team, starting from Laxman who helped us win, Along with Ishant Sharma and also the bowlers. It was obviously going to be difficult on a track going up and down. Pujara showed tremendous character and his partnership with Vijay was very crucial one.” Talking about his own stunning batting form he said: “I don’t count. Let the others count. I just want to continue scoring. Normally, there is not much crowd for Test cricket, thanks to Bangalore for coming out. You guys made the victory sweeter”. Australian Captain Ricky Ponting is now hardly criticized by his retired Australian players for his tactics against India in that series. It is third consecutive Test lose for Australia now. In this series Indian youngster also performed very well especially Vijay and Pujara shine as new batting stars in Indian celebrated batting line-up.
