BMW M5 2012 Review: Best Luxury Sedan By BMW
BMW M5 sedan 2012:
BMW M5 the fifth generation sports sedan made its appearance in the Detroit 2012 Auto show and surprised the audience with its newly evolved look and an array of gadgets as part of its wonderful technology. Seen as the luxurious business sedan equipped with high-revving 4.4-liter V8 coupled with an M twin power turbo package that delivers an impressive 0—60mph in 4.4 seconds. Its capacity to touch 190 mph as the top speed was enough to attract the speed lovers while enjoying the luxurious ride at the same time.
BMW M5 2012 Exterior:
The new BMW M5 succeeds where 5-series failed to impress. Its stylish lines, authoritative appearance and dynamic proportions enhanced by the dynamic proportions with M-specific design features make it an extra ordinary looking vehicle. The bonnet expanse gives an indication of the power lying under the hood. The V contour lines reaching the double kidney grille where the three air intakes keep the engine cool. On this cleverly designed car two side intakes dynamically curve down to the front of the vehicle. The double spoke lightweight wheels bear the entire weight of the car. The wide chrome frame and the indicator bar bears the M logo giving it a deep set look. The mirror casings are painted in twin colors, the top in body color and the lower portion in black glossy paint. As we come the rear we see a bespoke rear apron and a diffuser inset at the lower edge with the twin-pipe
exhaust system. The aerodynamically designed tailpipes flank the rear. There is an additional option to choose the exclusive frozen black color which was previously offered for special edition of BMW M3.
BMW M5 2012 Interior:
The interior of M5 carries the same exclusive charisma the exterior has. The contoured seats covered with fine grain merino leather upholstery with extended features such as the driver’s M- footrest, exclusive aluminum Trace interior trim strips. The door sills have M5 lettering giving them an individuality one craves for. Anthracite is used for the roof lining. 10.2 inch control display is part of an iDrive control system as a standard feature. The steering wheel has the buttons for the cruise control system and the audio/telephone functions. The steering wheels left spoke houses two buttons for the driver to save a sporty configuration with M1 button and a comfort biased setup with the M2 button, a sheer luxury at your fingertips.
BMW M5 2012 Engine/Performance:
BMW M5 is equipped with high revving 4.4 liter V8 with M twin power turbo charged 560 horse power, only limited by the intervention of rev limiter fitted in the engine. You have reason to feel happy as the 10% output increase and 30% torque increase is the highlight of this power source compared to the previous engine it has replaced. M5 races from 0 to 60 mph in straight 4.4 seconds. Although limited to 155mph as the top speed because of the speed limiter, one can remove the limiter to reach to the top speed of 190 mph. Though its acceleration may be little shabby compared to the new Audi S8 accelerating from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds but not forgetting that this is a sedan cum sports car and expert drivers have been able to clock a 0-60 mpg in 3.7 seconds. The engine could be switched over to manual gear shift mode with standard fitted shift paddles on the steering wheel if needed.
BMW M5 2012 Safety:
BMW m5 is fitted with brake energy regeneration and an auto stop function switching off the engine at the junctions or traffic jams. It is also equipped with the safety belts for the driver as well as the front and back passengers and necessary safety bags in case of collision. Is it necessary to remind you that this sedan can turn into a sports speedster anytime at the will of the driver.
